JYP Entertainment has dropped talented stars from their auditions

It has been revealed that a number of accomplished stars in the Korean music industry had auditioned or were trainees through JYP Entertainment, but failed to debut or pass. Due to this news, JYP Entertainment has been gaining a lot of attention for eliminating talented singers.

Recognized as a popular teen singer today, IU experienced elimination at JYP auditions. Her audition video in the most recent JYP Entertainment audition in 2008 has become a hot topic due to her skill. Unfortunately, IU, who sang a Bubble Sister’s song ‘So Much Love, So Much Laughter’, was eliminated. Currently, IU recorded a song with Park Jin Young for the OST of KBS 2TV drama ‘Dream High’. IU said, “It’s the first time I have been involved in an OST recording. I have seen the company president at auditions and doing recordings together is a blessing for me.”

Goo Hara, a member of popular girl group KARA, also auditioned for JYP in 2008. She also gained the judge’s attention and moved through to the finals. Even though she put an impressive performance in her final round of auditions, Goo Hara was eliminated. She then moved to DSP Entertainment and debuted in KARA. To this date, Goo Hara won an award for the best female MC at the 2010 KBS Enterntainment Awards. KARA’s Japanese debut song ‘Mister’ is a hit on Japanese broadcasting programs and receives a lot of love.

Lee Ki Kwang of boy band BEAST was originally a trainee in JYP. Recently, Park Jin Young appeared on KBS 2TV ‘Win Win’ and Lee Ki Kwang explained the reason why he did not debuted with JYP, “I have recognized my talent.”

He then debuted in BEAST through Cube Entertainment. Cube was founded 3 years ago by Hong Seung Song, the former president of JYP Entertainment. BEAST has gained a lot of attention for their strong vocal and dance performances. They also successfully sold out the tickets for their first concert and will hold encore concerts at the end of February due to the fans’ wishes.

2NE1’s leader CL from YG Entertainment was also a JYP trainee. CL still maintains her close relationship with JYP artists and supports them. 2NE1’s first album and mini-album sold many copies and topped the music charts. 2NE1 also received the Top Ten Award at the Melon Awards, along with MNET’s Album of The Year and Best Girl Group Award in 2010.
