They basically just mainly enroll in school but never actually show up.
Years ago, BoA was criticized for not attending college when it came time for her to apply. Now she has revealed her reasons behind her controversial decision.
BoA stated, "Truthfully, an educational background isn’t important to my line of work. Rather than an educational background, I think that a person's sensitivity and abilities are important. I wasn't even able to go to high school and finished with a GED, so even if I went to college I wouldn't be able to attend, and isn't it clear that I would become a ghost student? That sort of education has no meaning. I want to study properly later on when I have the freedom and am given the time."
IU is currently in her third year in high school and has had the same feelings as BoA. She explained, "Even if I enrolled in college, I don't think that I would be able to go often, so I gave up on enrolling in college. I want to go to college later when I'll be able to do well."
In reality, many of the celebrities who go forth and enroll in college have the odds against them on actually fully completing it. Now that the issue of "ghost students" is becoming more widely known, BoA and IU are receiving praise for their mature reasoning. So for now, BoA and IU will continue on promoting and strive to further their success in the business. They will attend college when they feel they are ready.
