Dara talks about her earthquake experience
We previously reported that following the earthquake and tsunami disaster in Japan, 2NE1 had arrived safely back in Seoul on March 12th. In an interview with Star News, 2NE1's Dara gave a brief account of her earthquake experience in Tokyo.
Dara explained that at the time the earthquake occurred, 2NE1 had been in their hotel room on the 34th floor. Dara told Star News that their shock experience was intensified by the height of the location, saying, "My body was shaking so much that I was swept off my feet. Even while I was on the returning flight, I couldn't calm myself from the shock and even now, when I think about that time, it terrifies me." Continuing with her story, Dara said, "After the shaking had settled down a bit, I walked down from the 34th floor to the first floor, and moved myself to a safe location."
Despite her own trauma, Dara expressed concern for 2NE1's Japanese fans, having noted that there had been fans in front of the hotel when the earthquake tremors began. She said, "Our members, including myself were all very shocked but we were more concerned for the Japanese fans and the Japanese people than ever. We hope that the fans who had supported us when we arrived in Japan are all safe and we hope that there will be no more injuries from this earthquake."
Her arrival at the airport with a band-aid on her right index finger attracted concern, but representatives explained that this was a result of a minor bathroom accident and not of the earthquake.
