For many fans of K-pop and its idols, the age demographic is largely made up of the younger age group, mainly of people in their pre-teens to young adult years. However, K-pop's greatest asset is not that it is only limited to the young age group, but it also touches many other demographics. For example, many girl groups appeal to older men, as the adults feel reminded of daughters when they see them. Adult females too have shown love towards the idols of today as well, either from the typical interest of idols that they would like as a son or daughter or from appearances in dramas by idols. On the broadcast of Y-Star's program "Wonder About That" on the 24th of March, the show featured a segment on which idols were most loved by middle-aged women.
For the survey, the program asked 300 women in their 40s-60s which idol that they felt was the "top idol". Out of all of the many idol groups that exist today, SNSD was chosen most often out of all of the women interviewed, receiving 102 out of 300 votes. For male groups, Big Bang came in first.
Here are the full results from the survey:

Yoona came in first, reflecting her high popularity as she has not only starred in dramas but has also appeared in many CFs like the ones for Innisfree. Jo Kwon of 2AM, famed for his playful antics on shows and highly popularized from "We Got Married", came in second to Yoona in overall popularity, but came in first for male popularity. Yuri, fellow groupmate of Yoona in SNSD, came in 3rd, demonstrating her popularity as the "Nation's daughter-in-law", and also demonstrated how her frequent appearances on variety shows as well as her participation in "Invincible Youth" correlated to her popularity with the adult female demographic.
