‘Immortal Song 2′ wants to expand beyond idols

KBS’s ‘Immortal Song 2‘ has been known as an idol singing program ever since it made its comeback, but producers of the show have revealed that going forward, they will no no longer limit the show to just idols.

KBS director Jun Jin Guk recently met with reporters and explained, “‘Immortal Song 2′ earned attention for being a song battle between idols, but from here on out, we don’t want to limit ourselves to idols.”
He continued, “We don’t want to put the emphasis on ‘idols’, rather we want to bring back past hits and legendary songs. It shouldn’t matter who joins the show – we want to effectively teach viewers about past hits.”
With the recent addition of 4MEN’s Shin Yong Jae and Huh Gak, the show has been gradually bringing in non-idol singers. “The contestants are in their 20’s, so the producers are also working on broadening that.”
