K-pop stars grieve over Whitney Houston’s death


Many of you have probably heard the news of Whitney Houston‘s untimely death by now; news of the legendary pop singer who left this world at the age of 48 spread all over the world in minutes upon it’s release.
 People all over the world are grieving over her death including a number of K-pop celebrities.
On February 12th, former lead singer of Fin.K.L, Ock Ju Hyun tweeted, “My heart aches after hearing the loss of Whitney Houston.  She was the first singer that I loved and respected so much.  She had a powerful and heavenly voice.  Rest in Peace.”
Lee Young Hyun of Big Mama was also devastated by the news and wrote, “Whitney Houston has died?  That’s impossible…no way..  Whitney Houston is a musician who influenced me so much.  She was a role model and an imaginary mentor to me.”
Baby V.O.X singer Shim Eun Jin and singer Tablo also left, “Whitney Houston has passed away” and “Whitney Houston…I wish it[the news] wasn’t true” respectively.
Whitney Houston has often been called the Queen of pop music.  At her peak during the 1980s and ’90s, she was one of the world’s most popular singers.  To this day she ranks among the Top 20 best selling artists of all time, selling over 100 million albums.  She even starred in popular movies such as ‘The Bodyguard‘ and ‘Waiting to Exhale‘.
