Earlier today, a representative from the production team for MBC’s “The Moon that Embraces the Sun” stated that the popular drama was granted a four-episode extension.
The continuing rise in viewership ratings, as well as the entire cast and crew’s wishes in producing a more complete, high quality drama, contributed to the final decision of extending the series.
Originally, “The Moon that Embraces the Sun” was scheduled to air its final episode on March 8. With the extension, the drama will now end on March 22. As a result, Pan Entertainment will have an internal competition between its two teams producing “The Moon that Embraces the Sun” and KBS’s “The Equator Man,” which will premiere March 14.
Last night, “The Moon that Embraces the Sun” achieved a new high of 38.4% (AGB Nielsen), a 1.3% increase from the twelfth episode’s ratings. SBS’s “Take Care of Us, Captain” and KBS’s “Wild Romance” recorded 6.3% and 5.2% respectively.
