On the May 4th episode of SBS‘ ‘GO Show‘, Boom revealed the hardships he went through during his trainee period.
Boom shared, “After making my debut in a group called Nuclear during my sophomore year of high school, we were given a time to introduce ourselves on a cable TV program. To make our group more known, I talked a lot during the show.”
“I went into our company office thinking that I did well, but our CEO wasn’t pleased and scolded me. He was not pleased that I talked so much by myself and threw an ashtray made of glass at me,” he revealed, shocking everyone on set.
“Getting hit by the ashtray didn’t even hurt at that time. Later, I cried so much that I had a hard time walking back to my dorm. The next day, I went back into to the company office and found the remains of my punishment still there. I cleaned up the mess myself and even placed the clean ash tray in a place that would be most convenient for the CEO.”
He continued, “I was scared of the possibility that my CEO would tell me not to be a singer anymore. While I was cleaning the mess, I thought to myself that I should forget about what happened yesterday and move forward. That’s how much I treasured my dream of becoming a singer.”
After hearing this, MC Yoon Jong Shin complimented Boom by saying, “People who get easily upset or discouraged should learn from watching Boom.”
