BTOB Holds First Showcase in Indonesia

BTOB wrapped up its successful first showcase in Indonesia.BTOB held its first showcase in Indonesia, BTOB Live in Jakarta, at the Grand Ballroom in the Mandarin Oriental Hotel on June 21.

According to the group’s agency Cube Entertainment, fans waited near the venue for the group to appear onstage since the early morning, holding placards in Korean in their hands.

A rep from Cube Entertainment said, “BTOB held an interview to celebrate its first visit to the country with main media outlets in Indonesia before the showcase. The interview session brought in many music critics and expert journalists, and they evaluated BTOB to ‘soon be popular in Indonesia just three months since its debut’ and to be ‘a band that can mature to perform various genres.’

The showcase brought in 350 fans chosen through a lottery and 150 officials from local broadcasting, media and music industries.

BTOB announced the start of the showcase with its performance of Born to Beat, and made fans go crazy by performing its debut single Secret.

Seven fans selected beforehand were also invited onstage to be taught BTOB’s dance moves by the singers themselves and to dance in couple dances.

The members were prepared to speak some Indonesian, such as “Aku cinta kamu,” or “I love you,” for their fans. When Peniel cutely said some phrases popular in the country in Indonesian, the fans went wild.

The members said, “We feel whenever we come on stages like this that we can say what we want to say through music and dance. It’s our first time in Indonesia, but we’re energized by the cheers as hot as the weather. We want to hold a concert with more fans soon.”

Local officials who saw BTOB’s performance that day agreed, “Although they’re rookies, BTOB is skilled onstage and knows how to draw its fans into the performance.”

The showcase will soon be broadcast on Indonesian and Southeast Asian television through Indonesia’s channel ONE.

BTOB will continue to promote in Indonesia and will return to Korea on June 23.
