“A Gentleman’s Dignity,” Jang Dong Gun’s first drama in 12 years, has maintained its mid-10% ratings on its second week.
The drama premiered with a 14.9% rating on May 26, and has quickly differentiated itself with its portrayal of the love lives of city professionals in their 40s.
Viewers have started tuning in to the push and pull relationship between architect Kim Do Jin (Jang Dong Gun) and high school teacher Seo Yi Soo (Kim Ha Neul.) The show is also attracting attention for the frank treatment of physical relationships and sex talk. Viewers have come to expect unabashed kisses and sexy jokes.
“A Gentleman’s Dignity,” under the helm of Shin Woo Chul and Kwon Hyuk Chan is written by “Secret Garden” scenarist Kim Eun Sook. Along with Jang Dong Gun and Kim Ha Neul, the drama also stars Kim Soo Ro, Kim Min Jong and Lee Jong Hyuk. It airs Saturdays and Sundays on SBS.
