Gong Yoo Has the Commercial Contracts Pouring In

Gong Yoo is starting to wield more power in the commercial scene.

The actor recently renewed his contract with Dongsuh Food’s coffee brand KANU for a second year.

A source from the brand said, “Gong Yoo’s image appealed to a variety of age groups from the 20s and drew great reactions from consumers, so great that when people thought of coffee, they thought of Gong Yoo. He played a great role in improving the image of KANU.”

Gong Yoo is currently modeling for beer, insurance, coffee, clothing brands and social commerce sites, and recently added an outdoor clothing brand to his list of contracts. He’s thus been leaving a trail of commercials in the wake of his explosive popularity.

He was even acknowledged for his acting skills with the success of the drama Coffee Prince and the film The Crucible. This made him popular not only among advertising officials, but also among those for drama and film.

Gong Yoo is now appearing in KBS2’s Big to try a hand at becoming the ‘king of romantic comedy’.

Big is a new piece by the hit makers Hong Jung Eun and Hong Mi Ran, and has Gong Yoo act like a grown man with a teenage soul. The first two episodes proved to be a big success with Gong Yoo’s brand of humorous acting.
