It’s not only the SBS’ K-Pop Star finalists who are finding post-show success in their music careers but the show’s former contestants as well. On June 14, Polaris Entertainment revealed it had signed on contestant Kim Woo Sung and was currently preparing his future debut.
Kim Woo Sung attracted attention during the first season of K-Pop Star for his unique vocals and good looks. Unfortunately the contestant was eliminated in the battle rounds right before the finalists were selected for the live episodes.

Polaris Entertainment added, “We believe Kim Woo Sung has a merit-filled voice, star quality and a great potential as a musician and decided to sign him on. As much as he was anticipated by fans, we will train him well to help him debut as a singer.”
Kim Woo Sung will now become label mates with fellow veteran singers such as Kim Bum Soo and Ivy.
