Kim Dong Wan Opens Up on ′Deranged′, Shinhwa and Kim Myung Min

Shinhwa’s Kim Dong Wan, who will soon be adding another piece to his filmography with Deranged, attended the press conference for Deranged held on June 20 in Seoul to open up on how he felt about the film and its cast.

Kim Dong Wan said, “Kim Myung Min is a great actor, and he was also good at brightening the mood on set. He took care of the staff well.”

He added, “I thought he would be a Yi Sun Shin [serious] type, but he was just like that guy next door. He brightened the mood by even making ramyeon in a big pot.”

Kim Dong Wan took on the role of the detective Jae Pil in the flim, and said he tried to learn how detectives work by following them around.

“I chased after officers I know at the Gangnam Police Agency and the Seodaemun Police Agency. I learned, though, that there’s nothing special to it. I could just jump in,” he said with a laugh.

When asked whether the other Shinhwa members showed any support, he said, “The members never really give each other reactions. They said they would come for the preview, though.”

Deranged will be Kim Dong Wan’s second film venture since Spin Kick. The singer-turned-actor showed his passion toward acting, saying, “I want to do any piece I’m offered now.”

Deranged is about how a man tries to save his infected family from a national disaster caused by mutant parasitic worms (yeongasi) that can take control of human brains. The film will premiere on July 5.
