Park Yoo Chun and his most recent drama Rooftop Prince are experiencing explosive popularity in Taiwan. Recently, Rooftop Prince held its premiere broadcast in Taiwan on channel GTV where it recorded a viewership rating of 1.46 percent, the highest so far of any Korean drama in Taiwan.
In addition, the fan community site for Rooftop Prince on China’s portal site Baidou has so far reached over 59,000 followers as of June 11 and is fast approaching the 60,000 mark while Park Yoo Chun’s fan community on Baidou has over 80,000 members.

On China’s largest video site, Youku, videos related to Rooftop Prince have been replayed some 70 million times, recorded an average rating of 9.4 out of 10 and has amassed over 110,000 responses to make it the number one Korean drama on the site.
A television drama industry insider added, “Though the drama has yet to be officially aired in China the popularity is really astounding. In addition to the great chemistry between the staff and actors, Park Yoo Chun’s flawless character transformation as he transported between Joseon and Seoul seems to be receiving a great response from fans.”
Rooftop Prince will also make its television premiere in Japan this July.
