It’s been three weeks since Wonder Girls first made a comeback, but its single has actually rose in rank on charts so long after its release to grab the top of Melon’s music chart again.
Like This, which was released on June 3, topped the weekly chart on Melon on June 25. The single proved it was different from most of the others that stay on top for a short while after its release and then fall in rank.
The reason Like This is still on the rise is because it contains a different side of Wonder Girls never seen before. Like Thisincorporates electronic sounds and a hip-hop beat, and its popular leg dance adds some fun and activity to the song, having everyone dancing along.
Wonder Girls won the Mutizen Song, or the top spot on SBS’ Inkigayo, and also nailed no. 1 on the Billboard’s K-Pop chart.
A rep from JYP Entertainment told enews on June 25, “Thanks to the group’s fans, Wonder Girls’ new single Like This rose to no. 1 on Melon’s weekly charts. We thank everyone for their support. We hope they continue to stay with the group in the future.”
Wonder Girls will be holding its first exclusive concert in three years on July 7 at Seoul’s Jamsil Indoor Stadium.
