On November 24 at an SBS press conference the big three hallyu making companies YG, JYP and SM and their representatives Yang Hyun Suk, Park Jin Young and BoA respectively came together to announce the official start of Survival Audition K-Pop Star.
With a superior judging panel the competition for the birth of a new star will begin December 4.
The goal of the judges are to stay at objective and unemotional during the judging process as possible, and both YG and JYP have expressed their surprise for how objective and cool-headed BoA has been as a judge. MC Yoon Do Hyun has even given her the nickname "Cold Mom."
However despite her cold demeanor there has been an auditionee that has made BoA shed tears already.
Despite a sickness, a 19 year old sang and danced in front of the judges. In response BoA could not even give a complete critique due to the onslaught of emotions. While tears fell down her face BoA managed to state, "the amount of impact that this person has given even in this kind of situation is such a touching thing."
Park Jin Young and Yang Hyun Suk also agreed and complimented the auditionee stating that it is even hard for normal people to have such a talent. Even after the judging of this contestant BoA could not stop crying and recording had to stop temporarily. Due to the emotional atmosphere it was said that the rest of recording was not an easy one.
