JYJ's Jaejoong recently traveled to Shanghai, China to hold a solo fan meet in response to the love his Chinese fans gave him during his role on "Protect the Boss."
On December 10, Jaejoong met with 4,000 fans at the Shanghai International Gymnastics Center. Because all 4,000 seats were sold out as soon as tickets went on sale, about a thousand fans were reported to have stood outside the stadium in support of the star.
Sponsors of the fan meet revealed, "Chinese fans watched his drama online on SBS live instead of waiting for it to be broadcast in China later. JYJ's Jaejoong has such high popularity already, and his character as 'Cha Moowon' only amplified that further. About a thousand fans that couldn't purchase the tickets supported the star outside despite the cold weather, which surprised us all."
Officials of C-JeS Entertainment added, "Thanks to Jaejoong's popularity, 'Protect the Boss' has been showing outstanding international sales. Fans from all over the world have been making endless requests for him to come and visit."
Right from his arrival at the airport, Jaejoong was greeted by a thousand fans that eventually froze the airport, leading Jaejoong to exit through a special VIP hall.
During the fan meet, Jaejoong picked out handwritten questions by his fans and held a Q&A session. He also chose special fans through a lottery and personally called them up on their cell phones and even played games with them.
"I know that I have a lot of supporters in China, and I'm sorry that I can't visit often. Thank you so much for showing unchanging love during my visit. I promise to work hard to become a better actor and singer in the future," Jaejoong said.
Jaejoong is currently composing songs for JYJ's next album while reviewing potential dramas.
