At the end of the year award ceremony, Lee Su Geun threw out a name besides Kang Ho Dong and that name happened to be Shin Dong Yeop.
That’s the amount of respect Lee has for Shin, and the two men also share a close friendship in real life.
However, it will only be a matter of time before these two will compete against each other.
With the selection of Shin Dong Yeop as the new MC of SBS’ Strong Heart alongside Lee Dong Wook, soon these two men will have to battle it out every Tuesday, as currently, Lee is the supporting MC to Kim Seung Woo on KBS2’s Win Win.

Lee and Shin’s connection goes way back.
In fact, both of them have experienced joy and pain while working together. Back in 2010, Shin and Lee were selected as the MC’s of SBS’ new program Delicious.
But before they could even properly showcase their abilities as MC’s, the show was cancelled within six months and both men became the tragic characters of a failed program.
Their chemistry, however, was something worth seeing and they were known as the ‘masters of improvisation’, quickly adjusting to the changing situations and bringing out laughter with their banter. Unfortunately, they also had to acknowledge their responsibility in the show’s poor ratings.
The upcoming competition between Shin and Lee is not a mere coincidence. And while it may be quite common for successful MCs to meet one another on a rival program, these two men share a close bond and have only worked together once in the past. As such it is quite ironic that they will meet again, only this time as rivals.
Currently, the viewership ratings of KBS2’s Win Win and SBS’ Strong Heart bounce up and down depending on who the guests are on a specific day.
As such, it looks like Shin will play a key role in the success or failure of Strong Heart and the same could be said for Lee and Win Win. Furthermore, viewers will finally get the opportunity to check out the first showdown between these two friends this coming April 10.
