Big Bang and 2NE1 were picked as the top two K-Pop artists in France, according to a survey run by the Paris branch of the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO).
Big Bang received an overwhelming 49.9% of the total 3,775 votes while 2NE1 got a whopping 64.8% of the total responses from the survey titled, “Research of K-Pop’s Popularity in France and Consumer Habits of K-Pop Fans.”
The survey said Big Bang received the majority of its votes from male fans and people in their 20s. 2NE1, on the other hand, drew support from all ages and had a pretty good balance between male and female fans.
In fact, this is not the first time Big Bang and 2NE1 saw their names top a popularity vote in France. Last year, the two groups under YG Entertainment were named as #1 K-Pop bands in another survey run by “K-Pop France,” a French K-Pop music site.
Meanwhile, Big Bang and 2NE1 released their Japanese albums on the same day on March 28. The two groups also performed at the “Spring Groove” music festival on March 31 and April 1 in Osaka and Tokyo, joining many other prominent musicians, including LMFAO and David Guetta.
