Yesterday’s episode of SBS “Strong Heart” marked Lee Seung Gi’s last episode as host of the popular talk show.
As shown in last week’s preview, the multi-entertainer shed tears as he reflected on the past two and a half years on the show.
During the final minutes of the show, a teary Lee Seung Gi shyly stated, “The guests should be the main focus of the show, but [because of the attention on Lee Seung Gi and his last show] I feel embarrassed.” He continued, “I remember the first moments. I wasn’t confident in myself when I first started, but almost three years have already passed. It was possible because of the family at ‘Strong Heart’ and the best possible guests on the show.”
Lastly, Lee Seung Gi added, “I miss Kang Ho Dong hyung, who started this show with me. I also want to than all the people, staff, fan, and others who helped me through when I became the solo MC [following Kang Ho Dong’s departure.] I’ll be leaving now.”
Lee Seung Gi partnered up with Kang Ho Dong to co-host the show in 2009. After Kang Ho Dong announced his retirement from the entertainment industry last October, Lee Seung Gi took over the reigns and entertained both viewers and his guests as the solo MC. Since then, he has been recognized for his talent and ability to lead a show by himself. New MCs, popular actor Lee Dong Wook and veteran MC Shin Dong Yup, participated in their first recording for “Strong Heart” on March 29. Their first episode as MCs will air next week on April 10.
