Daniel Henney talks about his new movie ‘Shanghai Calling’ on KTLA’s ‘Live Morning Show’

Actor Daniel Henney recently sat down for a live interview on KTLA‘s ‘Live Morning Show‘.

In honor of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, KTLA chose to introduce ‘LA Asian Pacific Film Festival (LAAFF)‘ and held an interview with Daniel Henney who was invited to attend the festival along with ‘E.R.’ actress-turned-movie-director Lily Mariye.
The reporter  introduced Daniel Henney as the actor from ‘X-Men: Wolverine‘, and asked about his new starring role in ‘Shanghai Calling‘.
Daniel Henney stated, “I play a Chinese American lawyer who gets relocated to Shanghai against his will.” ‘Shanghai Calling’ portrays the journey of an American lawyer who is trying to get used to the culture of Shanghai, and of course, a romance develops in the process.
The actor was then asked, “This film festival, what does it mean to you, how important is it to the Asian American community?”
Henney answered, “For these small films being made in places like China, Korea, and Japan, just to be acknowledged and to be in these festivals is so wonderful. And this is a very prestigious festival. We made the film hoping we can get shown somewhere, and to be shown here in Los Angeles is a dream come true for all of us.”
Daniel Henney recently attended the Newport Beach Film Festival in LA and received the ‘Outstanding Achievement Award’ for his lead role in ‘Shanghai Calling’.  He will also attend the LA Asian Pacific Film Festival and the opening night for ‘Shanghai Calling’ at the Director’s Guild of America in Los Angeles on the 10th at 7PM PST.
