My Name Signs with Biggest Agency in Japan

The rookie group My Name signed with the biggest agency in Japan to help promote in the island country.According to a source close to My Name, Yoshimoto Creative Agency, one of the biggest agencies in Japan, signed My Name in as its first Korean singer in its 100 year history, and is preparing a set of large-scale promotions for the group. The feat is unprecedented for a rookie group that hasn’t even debuted in Japan yet.

Yoshimoto Creative Agency is the longest-running agency in Japan, and represents more than 1,000 celebrities. It also stands at the center of Japan’s comprehensive entertainment industry, as it is involved in TV, play production, distribution, concerts and the Okinawa International Film Festival.

My Name was welcomed into the main office of Yoshimoto Creative Agency last month, and the President of the agency visited My Name’s recording studio in person to show his support. Yoshimoto Creative Agency set exclusive staff in charge of My Name, and soon plans to start up promotions in the country.

A rep from My Name’s agency said, “We believe My Name is gathering much interest because its potential for growth brought on the new developments, although the group didn’t debut in Japan yet. We’re putting together a big plan for My Name’s Japan debut in July.”

My Name will reveal the music video teaser for its first single on May 21.
