SNSD’s Jessica Talks about Her Slump and Difficult Trainee Days

Girls’ Generation (SNSD) member Jessica revealed how she had fallen into a slump in the past. She talked about the difficulties she had to go through during her long time as a trainee on the May 17 broadcast of tvN’s Taxi.

Jessica said, “I visited my agency for the first time when I was 12 years old. I cried instead of singing during the audition’s camera test. I think I was so embarrassed because I was so young, but President Lee Soo Man just picked me out after seeing me cry, telling people to train me for a while. I wasn’t really talented in anything.”

She said she once fell into a slump in the middle of her seven years as a trainee.

The most trying times were when “an older junior debuted first,” she said. “That’s supposed to be normal, but when people keep asking you ‘are you okay?’, then that makes me think ‘maybe I can’t debut because there’s something wrong with me’ or ‘what is the company thinking?’”

Jessica also cleared up misunderstandings about herself because of her ‘Ice Princess’ image, and revealed what happens in the everyday lives of the SNSD members.
