‘A Gentleman’s Dignity’s First Love is the Writer of ‘Ghost?’

In episode 8 of SBS’ A Gentleman’s Dignity, actress Park Joo Mi was introduced as ‘Kim Eun Hee,’ the first love of the four gentlemen, Jang Dong Gun, Kim Soo Ro, Kim Min Jong and Lee Jong Hyuk, gaining lots of interest.
While Park Joo Mi gathered the spotlight for her baby face, that wasn’t the only thing brought to attention.

Her character of ‘Kim Eun Hee’ has been buzzing around the internet as being the writer of SBS’ Ghost.

And it is not a mere coincidence as June 1’s episode 12 will even have Kim Ha Neul question the name ‘Kim Eun Hee’ only to have Yoon Ji Ni reply, “Oh the writer of Ghost?”

So what is the connection between A Gentleman’s Dignity and Ghost?

It turned out that the Kim Eun Sook and Kim Eun Hee, the current writers for A Gentleman’s Dignity and Ghost are close friends, after meeting together at a SBS award ceremony in 2011, where Kim Eun Sook’s Secret Garden and Kim Eun Hee’s Sign both won awards.

On June 20 and 21’s broadcasts of Sign, writer Lee Eun Hee named one of her characters after the assistant writer of A Gentleman’s Dignity, displaying an affectionate friendship between the writers.

Kim Eun Sook’s name may also appear on June 27’s broadcast of Ghost.

Kim Eun Sook, who is known for including the real names of people around her in her works, decided to respond to Kim Eun Hee’s act by naming one of her characters after Kim Eun Hee in A Gentleman’s Dignity as well.

The funny and adorable display of friendship between the writers has given viewers another thing to look out for while watching both dramas.
