Actor Jang Geun Suk has made a complete transformation for his role as the suave and charismatic art student ‘Seo Inha’ in the new drama ‘Love Rain‘.
‘Love Rain’ is receiving high interest as it was written by Oh Yeonsoo and directed by Yoon Suk Ho, the duo that bought viewers K-drama classics ‘Winter Sonata‘ and ‘Autumn Story‘. In the drama, Jang Geun Suk will be showing two different appeals, playing both the role of ‘Seo Inha’, a handsome art student of the 70′s who puts his life on the line for love, as well as the role of the chic and rugged ‘Seo Jun’, a modern photographer living in 2012.
Viewers are especially looking forward to Jang Geun Suk playing the role of Seo Inha, as the character is so different from his usual outgoing personality and free-flowing spirit.
The way Jang Geun Suk wears a watercolor-stained apron diligently working at his painting in the still cut above reminds netizens of a scene out of a fictional comic. His fans are drawn to this new side of him that displays his soft charisma.
“Seo Inha of the 70′s is a considerate gentleman who possesses a pure and calm personality and therefore I am working to express his delicate nature as best as I can. The dialogue in the script helps me bring out more emotion that adds to Inha’s character. I will do my best to bring out pure and ardent emotions of ‘Love Rain’,” the actor said.
Director Yoon Suk Ho remarked, “The character that Jang Geun Suk plays in ‘Love Rain’ is a 180 degree change from the intense and rugged characters he has played in dramas in the past. It’s fun bringing out fresh new appeals out of actors. Because Jang Geun Suk is a multi-talented individual, he has in every way showed viewers an energetic and playful side of him, but it’s so refreshing to see him work so hard to bring out new sensuous feelings and emotions to apply to his character.”
Yoon Suk Ho’s melodrama ‘Love Rain’ which displays the innocence of love in the 70′s as well as the ever-changing love of today will air sometime in 2012.
