J.Y. Park denies sending one of his trainees to ‘K-POP Star’ to build publicity

On the most recent episode of SBS Survival Audition K-POP Star, a contestant by the name of Yoon Hyun Sang blew the judges away with his cover of Yoo Jae Ha‘s “You In My Arms“.
But after the episode aired, netizens began doing some research into him as he looked vaguely familiar. It turns out that Yoon had previously been one of the top finalists of a JYPE audition, and netizens began speculating that J.Y. Park had featured one of his trainees on the audition program as sort of a publicity stunt.
J.Y. Park defended himself by writing via his official me2day page on the 13th, “You think I sent one of our trainees to ‘K-POP Star’? If I did such a thing, (YangHyun Suk hyung would’ve beat me up before any of you had a chance to cast your stones. It’s not true, so I hope everyone will be able to simply relax and enjoy the program with me.”
JYP Entertainment management stated that it was true that Yoon was one of the finalists of the JYPE online auditions, but he was eliminated in the second round and has never met J.Y. Park personally.
