On December 26, Kim spoke of how he felt and how he came to marry his bride at the photo wall event held just before the ceremony.
He said, “It’s so thrilling and it feels so funny I can’t put it into words,” and “The reason why we’re holding a private wedding is because I wanted to make an area where we can enjoy it by ourselves.”
He added to deny various rumors, “I didn’t marry her because [she became pregnant]. While we were talking about marriage, we got the baby. I think the baby came to tell us to hurry up and get married.”
Kim Tae Woo met Kim Ae Ri in September 2009 through an acquaintance, and the two soon entered a relationship. Kim Ae Ri is currently working as a researcher at Seoul University, and has been pregnant for five months; the baby is due April 2012. The couple will leave on a honeymoon to Guam.
The private wedding took place with relatives and acquaintances present, and singers who were invited to the wedding, such as Shin Seung Hun, sang for the couple’s happiness.
