‘Deranged’ Brings North Korea Conspiracy Theories Under Fire

Deranged has taken it into its hands to deal a sharp blow at the higher-ups that blame North Korea for every incident.
Deranged, starring Kim Myung Min and Moon Jung Hee, was unveiled in the press preview held on June 27.

Korea’s first epidemic disaster film managed to garner praise for its actors’ quality acting.

One line of dialogue even incorporated a bit of satire by touching on the North Korea theories that are often voiced by the government.

When the mutant parasites continue to spread and kill a great number of people at once, Jae Pil (Kim Dong Wan) attempts to get behind the reason.

A fellow detective says, “We don’t know why this is happening. Some even say they were brought on by North Korea,” to which Jae Pil answers, “It’s always North Korea.”

Most recently, organizations concluded that large-scale banking site hacking incidents that caused the public much trouble were led by North Korea.

Netizens scoffed at the conclusion, as it wasn’t the first time an incident had been blamed on North Korea supposedly in order to avoid responsibility.

Deranged is about mutant parasitic worms that control human brains to make them drown in the water come breeding season.

Director Park Jung Woo of Kick the MoonPresent and Jail Breaker took charge of directing and scriptwriting. The film will premiere on July 5.
