Jo Kwon discusses what it’s like being a “variety idol”

2AM‘s Jo Kwon has definitely made a name for himself as a “variety idol”.

In an interview with OSEN, Jo Kwon was asked how he thought he compared to other variety idols such as MBLAQ‘s Lee Joon and ZE:A‘s Kwanghee. He answered, “I saw broadcasts featuring the two, but I think [that we three are of] different variety categories. When it comes to my category, there is no one who can beat me. I don’t even worry about it. When [others] request that I [dance], I do it my way, and enthusiastically dust myself off, dance, snap, and twirl; that’s all.
He continued on his variety image, explaining, “Honestly, I didn’t know I’d be called ‘Kkab Kwon’. When an opportunity arose, I simply did things the way I wanted, and suddenly one day, I was ‘Kkab Kwon’.”
“Because [my 'Kkab Kwon' act] gets in the way of ballad song promotions, there were comments saying that I should control myself more during variety shows, but I honestly didn’t know exactly why I had to do that. Because it’s just my personality. I was happy that the general public was also having fun watching me.
In other news, Jo Kwon recently released a refreshing, electronic house song titled, “I’m Da One“.
