How much did SM Town earn in Tokyo in concert revenues?

Yesterday, SM wrapped up their concert in Tokyo, Japan. They had the concert on January 25th and 26th. Because of the demand, SM Town will be coming back to Tokyo in April for two encore concerts.

We also reported that fans in Japan were willing to buy the tickets to the concert 10 times the original cost. More than 400,000 ticket applications were received for the January 25th and 26th concerts.

TVXQ stood on stage in Japan after 7 months of hiatus and Japanese fans were overjoyed to see them. Groups like SHINee and f(x) took the stage and were introduced to the Japanese fans for the first time. SHINee seemed to have a fan base according to fan cheers despite the group not having made their official debut in Japan yet. SNSD also appeared to delight fans and performed for their growing fan base in Japan.

According to the article by Japanese Joins, a person close to SM Entertainment has stated that the company has most likely earned close to 300 million yen (3.6 million USD) just from the two concerts alone. All 12,000 seats at the National Yoyogi Stadium were sold out at 12,800 yen ($156 USD) each. In addition, SM Town merchandise was also sold at the concert, including t-shirts and albums.

SM Town will be back for another round of concerts on April 9th and 10th. The seats for the concerts are being sold for the same price as the January concerts.
