Dalmatian‘s Simon has been named a ‘commendable idol’ for his comments raising awareness for protecting the grass, prior to a major broadcast performance at a soccer field.
On June 8th, athlete Lee Dong Guk tweeted his worry about the grass being damaged from a public broadcast event which was being held at the Junju World Cup Stadium (KBS’ Music Bank).
Simon, whose team was also performing on the show, saw the tweet and tried to raise awareness by writing, “I hope that we try to prevent damaging the grass with our performances today so that the players can play to their full potential. We’ll make sure to keep the waiting room clean!”
In a later tweet, he thoughtfully added, “We’re at the waiting room used by the Junbuk athletes. There are traces of their passion and hard work in the locker rooms and shower stalls.”
Netizens commented back, “I’m touched that a person performing at the event would tweet this”, “He seems like he really loves soccer”, “A commendable tweet”, and “I hope there are more celebrities like him.”
Previously on the 6th, he had also tweeted in honor of Korea’s Memorial Day, writing, “I’m at the Haengju Mountain Fortress! I feel overwhelmed just standing at the entrance already. Thank you to everyone who sacrificed their lives for us.”
