‘Flower Boy’ Kim Jaejoong of idol group JYJ has become completely engrossed in performing stunt moves for his new drama series.
Risking an injury to his handsome face, Jaejoong who plays the role of Kim Kyung Tak in MBC‘s ‘Dr. Jin‘ is attempting a few action moves for the very first time.
Even before official filming began, Jaejoong has truly devoted himself to this drama and began learning swordsmanship and horseback riding.
A representative from JYJ’s management company CJeS Entertainment remarked on June 20th, “As soon as Jaejoong received the script, he enrolled in an action school and busily practiced fencing and horseback riding. He really focused in on each and every detailed move, starting with how to properly hold the sword.”
Even when the shoot is over, Kim Jaejoong reportedly never lets go of his sword. This is his way of getting into character, so that when he plays the role of master martial artist Kim Kyung Tak, he will not look awkward holding the sword.
However, the more he gets into character, he more likely he is to hurt himself and there is much concern. The CJeS rep continued, “There are a lot of scenes where he uses the sword so there are countless situations where he could cut himself. But he isn’t afraid of getting hurt. As it is his first time attempting action scenes, he is eager to experience it and would like to do it himself instead of hiring a double.”
The rep added, “He has a strong determination to complete everything himself without hiring a stunt double, as long as he is able to.”
