Will g.o.d regroup and release a new album?

Rumors have been swirling over the possible reunion of legendary idol group g.o.d., but they were quelled today after Kim Tae Woo‘s agency firmly stated that no official moves have been made.

The rumors began after an affiliate of the group said, “Starting around the end of last year, all of the [members'] agencies began to talk about the group’s new album and potential concerts.”

They continued, “The process is complicated, since all the members belong to separate labels.

However, Kim Tae Woo, Danny Ahn, Son Ho Young, and Park Jun Hyung are all enthusiastic about the idea of coming together once more as a group. Representatives from Kim Tae Woo and Danny Ahn’s agencies’ have even met to discuss the specifics.”

But what about Yoon Kye Sang, the member who dropped out of the group in 2004? Reports stated that chances of him rejoining g.o.d. were close to none.
The affiliate added, “After a new album is released, the members will meet their fans through concerts, instead of TV broadcasts. As the first idol group to perform 100 concerts at small-sized theaters, g.o.d. is a performance team. The members are preparing a concert for the fans who have been in a drought for too long.”

The rumors certainly seemed credible to fans, since veteran pop group Shinhwa are preparing for a March comeback. There are even whispers of a possible H.O.T. reunion.

Unfortunately, fans’ hopes were quashed after Kim Tae Woo’s agency, Soul Shop Entertainment, stated that there were no such discussions between the agencies.

On January 26th, a representative from Soul Shop Entertainment revealed to Star News, “This is all unheard of… There have been no talks between the agencies, and nothing has been set,” shutting down all speculations. The agency continued, “There may have been light talks between the members themselves, but as for specifics of a reunion, there have been no talks between the agencies.”

Debuting in 1999, g.o.d. received love from all age groups with their hit songs like “Lie”, “To My Mother”, and “Road”. After Yoon Kye Sang dropped out of the group in 2004 to pursue an acting career, the remaining members held on for one more album before deciding to disband one year later.

Recently, all of the members attended Kim Tae Woo’s wedding in December.
Would you like to see a g.o.d. reunion? Or should the members let that part of their past go? Tell us your thoughts below.
