Park Gyuri to Receive Vocal Cord Surgery

Kara’s Park Gyuri will be receiving surgery for her vocal cord nodules on February 21.A rep from Park’s agency DSP media stated on February 20, “Park Gyuri will be receiving surgery on February 21 to treat the problems she’s been having with her vocal cords including the nodules and polyps that occurred in November.”

The rep continued, “She was supposed to have surgery right after the problems first occurred, but because of the Korea performances of her musical 200 Pounds Beauty, Kara’s promotions in Korea and Japan and Kara’s exclusive concert held from February 18-19, she had to continue with only first aid treatments.”

“She continued performing without cancelling the musical to keep her promise with her audience, but she had to decrease the number of her appearances because there was a limit to those she could perform,” the rep said. “She also once suffered on MBC’s Lululala, which she hosted, because her voice failed her.”

After she returns to normal condition after the surgery, Park will be joining her group in the Asia tour to start in April.

The other Kara members will be continuing with individual promotions during Park’s break.
