Girl Group KARA and singer IU who recently released new singles in Japan have made it on the Oricon Weekly Singles Chart.
On March 28th, leading Japanese music authority Oricon released the official chart for the week of March 19th to the 25th, and KARA ranked second selling a total of 99,236 units with their sixth Japanese single, “Speed Up /Girls Power” while IU ranked sixth selling 21,283 units with her Japanese debut single, “Good Day“.
IU drew major attention from local fans, as she released her new album at the same time as highly popular idol group KARA and famous Japanese soloist Amuro Namie .
Amuro Namie climbed to #4 with ‘Go Round/YEAH-OH‘ and sold 46,983 units.
Considering that IU was up against some big contenders, she is off to a rather impressive start.
